West Visayas State University (WVSU) joined Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) 25th year founding anniversary SUC Fair with the theme "Celebrating 25 Years towards Access, Equity, and Global Excellence in Higher Education" at CHED Central Office in Diliman, Quezon City last April 22-24, 2019. The fair showcased regional state university and college (SUCs) products and innovations. CHED also had other activities lined up for the months of April and May to celebrate the milestone.
Region 6 bested other regional booths with its colourfully decorated booth inspired by Western Visayas festivals such as Dinagyang, Ati-atihan and Masskara. Ten state universities and colleges from Panay and Negros island actively participated in the fair festivities namely, Aklan State University, Capiz State University, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, Guimaras State College, Iloilo Science and Technology University, Iloilo State College of Fisheries, Northern Iloilo Polytechnic College, Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology, University of Antique and West Visayas State University. Participating state universities and colleges proudly displayed homegrown products such Guimaras mangoes, turmeric ginger teas, bottled bangus, and woven pineapple cloth among others.
Other CHED regional offices around the country were also expected to hold anniversary activities such as exhibits, fora, consultative conferences, film showing, fairs and motorcade.
