In keeping up with West Visayas State University's mission of producing globally competitive learners, WVSU aims to build resilient communities through its H.E.L.P. (health, environment, livelihood and pedagogy) through extension programs offered by the university's colleges and satellite campuses. This platform seeks to bolster the academic strengths of colleges by directing resources to address emerging issues that will enhance relevance and impact of extension programs. The following program thrusts enable WVSU to be a better partner in building resilient communities:
1. HEALTH programs mobilize communities, create awareness and encourage direct involvement to address health, wellbeing and other social problems of individuals, families and communities.
2. ENVIRONMENT programs allow communities to explore environmental issues and take actions to preserve, conserve and improve the environment.
3. LIVELHOOD programs provide alternative solutions to socio-economic problems of marginalized and less privileged individuals by assisting them to gain a more meaningful and productive way of life.
4. PEDAGOGY programs are designed to assist development of community of learners using appropriate methodologies and modalities in disseminating and transferring technologies.
