UEDC and ADRA conduct info campaign on Darag native chicken diseases

WVSU- University Extension and Development Center in cooperation with Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) conducted an information dissemination campaign on common Darag native chicken diseases and vaccine application and disposal  in Ajuy, Iloilo last March 6-7, 2019.  The training was conducted for residents and Darag raisers in four barangays in Ajuy, Iloilo  namely Brgys. Bay-ang, Pedada, Pantalan Nabaye and Silagon.  


The objective of the training was to educate Darag raisers and community residents with common diseases that generally plague  Darag chickens and impact their mortality. How to properly use and dispose vaccines was also highlighted during the training.



Darag native chicken experts Dr. Marynith B. Barrios of Capiz State University and Dr. Helen G. Genandoy of WVSU-CAF served as resource speakers during the training.
