DOST-PCCAARRD conducts training on breeding, management and marketing of native chicken



Livestock research experts from DOST-PCAARRD  in coordination with University Extension and Development Center conducted a "Training on Innovations in Breeding, Management and Marketing for Sustainable Commercial Production of Native Chicken"  last June 17-18, 2019 at the Research and Extension Building in West Visayas State University.

Resource speakers for the two-day training were Dr. Synan S. Baguio of Livestock Research (LRD) Division, DOST-PCAARRD; Dr. Rene C. Santiago of National Swine and Poultry Research and Development Center, Bureau of Animal Industry; Ms. Glenda P. Fule of LRD, DOST-PCAARRD and Mr. Felix P. Payas of Panay Darag Breeder Association (PADABA).  The training discussed basic  topics such as Development and Commercial Utilization of the Darag Native Chicken; Free-range Native Chicken Production Management and Income Farm Practices of Darag Native Chicken. A field visit to PADABA member Rosendo Parrenas farm in Brgy. Guinobatan, New Lucena, Iloilo capped the two-day training.
