As new director of UEDC, Dr. Becodo brings with him a wealth of experience in development communication, strategic planning, governance communication and public policy to further enhance the management of West Visayas State University's extension projects being implemented by the university's nine colleges and five external campuses. As a development communicator, he has published papers, publications and researches that focus on governance communication, disaster preparedness, environmental issues and communication policy for local government. He is also an active member of various development communication professional groups such as the Association of Development Communication Educators and Practioners in the Philippines (ADCEP) where he served as Vice President for Visayas from 2015-2018.
Dr. Becodo completed his Ph.D. in Development Communication from University of the Philippines-Los Banos with cognates in Strategic Planning and Public Planning/Development Management. He also holds a master's degree in education major in teaching English as a second language from University of the Philippines-Visayas and a diploma in teaching from West Visayas State University. He also completed his undergraduate studies from West Visayas State University with a degree in BS Mass Communications major in Development Communication.
Aside from being a devout family man to his wife and three children, Dr. Becodo is also a faculty of WVSU College of Communication, Department of Development Communication where he served as chairperson from 2013-2016
