The University Extension and Development Center has completed the delivery of the 4th and final batch of Darag Native Chicken starter kits in the Municipality of Sara, Iloilo last February 28, 2023. A total of 166 chickens composed of 139 hens and 27 hens were distributed to 5 beneficiaries in Brgy. Aguirre and 9 beneficiaries in Brgy. Domingo. Despite the unpredictable weather, the delivery was successfully facilitated and completed through the efforts of Sara MGLAD (Municipal Government and Livelihood Assistance), PADABA (supplier), UEDC and WVSU Supply Office personnel. Darag Native Chicken multiplier farm project is an initiative of Sara Mayor Jon Aying and is supported by West Visayas State University with funding support from Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and DEvelopment (DOST-PCAARRD).
