BayanAnihan Visayas Summit in pictures

Gawad Kalinga, SEED Philippines and partners launched the Visayas leg of the nationwide BayanAnihan Movement via a 3-day summit held on August 29-31, 2024 at West Visayas State University Cultural Center. The term BayanAnihan stems from the words 'bayan' (country), 'bayani' (hero), 'ani' (harvest), and 'bayanihan" (solidarity with others). The summit featured plenary talks, world-class cultural shows courtesy of the College of PESCAR, break-out sessions and a countryside fair held at the College of Medicine Gym and mini-forest area. The well-attended summit saw the active participation of students from WVSU CAF-Lambunao campus and other SUCs in Region 6. The event brought together government, NGOs, academe and the business sector to promote food security, sustainability, community empowerment and economic freedom by supporting young farmers and agripreneurs. The BayanAnihan Summit renews Gawad Kalinga and WVSU's past partnership and collaboration.
