The University Extension and Development Center conducted a Training-Workshop on IEC Production and Writing for Social Media last September 19-20, 2024 at the Research and Extension Bldg I, West Visayas State University. Twenty-eight faculty-extensionists from WVSU's colleges and campuses attended the said workshop facilitated by resource person Dr. Ian C. Espada of the College of Communication. The training aimed to update the skill set of extensionists not just in developing and producing traditional IEC but also in creating engaging publication materials for social media use.
The participants were oriented on the types and formats of IEC materials as well design concepts and principles. The topic on writing and designing IEC materials for social media was also lengthily discussed. As a culminating activity, the participants presented their expected outputs using graphic design platform Canva and mobile video editing app Capcut.
