Bridging Research and Public Impact: WVSU Holds Research-Based IEC Production Workshop

An important reminder from Ms. Shiela Mae T. Cocjin, three-time PIA Most Outstanding Information Officer of RAFIS–DA Western Visayas: turning research into compelling content is a skill every academic communicator must master.

Ms. Cocjin is empowering West Visayas State University faculty researchers and extensionists at the Research-Based IEC Production Workshop (October 15–17, 2025 | Smallville 21 Hotel), sharing practical strategies on transforming research outputs into materials that inform, inspire, and drive meaningful action across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.

💡 A key highlight of her session?

Mastering social media to boost the visibility, relevance, and impact of research in today’s fast-moving communication landscape.

Organized by the Communication and Promotion Section of the University Extension and Development Center, in partnership with the RAFIS DA–WV team led by Ms. Maria Corazon M. Buala, this 3-day workshop aims to bridge the gap between academic research and the public through creative and audience-centered information materials.
