The Social Science Department announced that Dr. Jeffrey Ballaret and Dr. Jonel Lanada secured third place at the 2026 PAEPI International Extension Conference held in Coron, Palawan last April 14-17, 2026.

The project was ranked among 40 extension initiatives from universities nationwide under the Culture, Social, and Behavioral Sciences category. The recognition reflects the project’s contribution to social advocacy and community-oriented extension work.

Dr. Ballaret presented a study focusing on transnational mothers, while Dr. Lanada examined the experiences of stay-at-home fathers. The two components collectively form the SEEK-GAD framework, which aims to strengthen gender-responsive reintegration and address issues associated with transnational family dynamics.

The recognition is dedicated to transnational mothers and the partner communities engaged in the project’s implementation.
