The University Extension and Development Center in its continuous effort to strengthen the capabilities of its extension coordinators and implementers conducted a two-day training entitled "Publication Writing in Extension" last June 18-19, 2019 at the Research and Extension Building in West Visayas State University.

Dr. Custer C. Deocaris, expert on research intelligence, tissue engineering and biotechnology and currently the head of the Research Management Division at CHED Central office was tapped to share his expertise on publication writing within the extension framework. His workshop goals aimed to discuss academia's three fold function of instruction, research and extension and how a scholarship approach to extension programs can result to meaningful, publishable extension outputs. Participants are expected to produce initial draft outputs based on workshop modules.
