Iloilo Provincial Government pushes for 'youthpreneurship' via the 4th Entrepreneur Program

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor welcomes partner agencies and youth  participants

The Iloilo Provincial Government in cooperation with the Local Economic Development Investment Promotion Center (LEIPO) launched the 4th Entrepreneur Program at the Grand Social Hall of Casa Real de Iloilo last November 12, 2019. The entrepreneurship program is an initiative of Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. in partnership with government agency partners and SUCs  to promote entrepreneurship, particularly agri-entrepreneurship among the young people of the province. Defensor cites the abundant, sustainable natural resources of Iloilo Province that the youth can utilize to develop and commercialize innovative products that can further strengthen the economic profile of the region.

To inspire the youth participants, Mr. Jonathan Petalver, CEO and President of Petalver Management Consultancy Services presented a pep talk entitled, "Developing Innovative Entrepreneurial  Mindset." The afternoon session opened with a presentation of services of partner agencies and organizations. Ms. Marie Jeannie Dureza, coordinator of WVSU-UEDC's Lifelong Learning for Self-Sufficiency Program (LLSSP) presented the short-term, non-formal courses that the youth can enroll in to support their entrepreneurial goals.
