Community members are the immediate victims of the adverse effects of disasters. To help empower communities and harness knowledge of community members about their local surroundings such as demographic, social, economic and cultural status, risky areas, and community assets and resources, the College of ICT continues its Extension Project ICT4D (ICT for Data-Driven Decisions on Disasters) with the Local Government of Zarraga and in partnership with JCI Iloilo, Inc.

The 2-day Seminar-Workshop on Managing Disaster Risks in Communities introduces community-based approach to Disaster Risk Reduction to help Barangay LGUs of Zarraga protect their communities and strengthen capacity to reduce disaster risks at the local level. ( WVSU-CICT)
