Kadiwa sa WVSU: A partnership for sustainability

The collaborative initiative titled "Kadiwa sa WVSU" which was soft launched during the University Days 2025 celebration continues to gain ground as a mutually productive and beneficial partnership between West Visayas State University and the Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas. Already in its fourth month of implementation as a monthly pop-up farmers' market at WVSU campus, Kadiwa sa WVSU seeks to bring farmer-cooperatives closer to the consumers, particularly to university teaching and non-teaching personnel, students, guests and stakeholders. Consumers can avail of fresh and good quality agricultural products and food items at relatively lower prices, thanks to the farm-to-table marketing platform.

Products offered at the Kadiwa sa WVSU include fruits and vegetables, beans and grains, dried fish, homemade ice cream, snacks and traditional Ilonggo delicacies.

Regular participants of the farmers' market include the following cooperatives:

1.  Tubungan Vegetable Producer Association
2.  Alimodian Vegetable Growers Association (Mariano)
3.  Camalig Rice Farmer Association
